Australian label Sass & Bide is moving its fashion week show to New York from London, as the brand
looks to focus its attention on the US market.Helmed by design duo Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton, the label has previously always been part of the London Fashion Week schedule, but for its Spring/Summer 2014 show ‘Freetown’, the brand has decided to showcase its collection as part of NYFW.
"We open our first international flagship boutique in Soho later this year which is a long-held dream of ours," explained brand director Sarah-Jane Clarke. "Our focus is very much on the US market right now, so making the decision to show in New York felt right."
To help them create a buzz for their New York Fashion Week show, the Australian label has enlisted an impressive support team including stylist Vanessa Traina, who has previously worked with Balenciaga and Erdem, make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury, and model casting will be done by Babara Nicoli and Leila Ananna, who are responsible for the models on the Burberry, Gucci, and Versace catwalks.
