Is PPR set to invest in Christopher Kane?

It has been a busy month for Christopher Kane,
first there were the rumours regarding whether or not he would succeed Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga, then the news was announced that he was leaving his role at Versus, and now reports suggest that luxury conglomerate PPR is looking to invest in the British designer.According to WWD, PPR has been holding discussions with Kane about financially backing his label, looking to add the London Fashion Week designer to its roster of luxury brands it already owns, which includes Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, Gucci, and Balenciaga, the label that Kane has been linked with.
Although both Kane and PPR have so far declined to comment, with the designer citing the development of his own label as one of the reasons for parting with Versus, an injection of cash from PPR would definitely help his label elevate into a global luxury brand.
