Mack Weldon launches sportswear

Mack Weldon is moving on from just being an underwear brand. The label will launch a polo shirt on July 12 and sweat shorts later on this month.
The Vesper Polo will be the brand's first attempt at sportswear. It is made from a breathable micro mesh with subtle tech stretch instead of the usual heavy cotton pique, and also features a collar that maintains its shape.
Last year, the brand introduced an athleisure line of hoodies and sweatpants made from French terry cotton, along with t-shirts made from Merino Wool. Earlier this year, they launched a performance dress sock.
The company, which was started by Brian Berger and Michael Isaacman four years ago, has already raised 7 million dollars in Series B funding. The funding round was led by KarpReilly, with additional participation from RiverPark Ventures, Bridge Investments, and Lyrical Partners who are current investors. In 2014, the company raised 2 million dollars from seed funding, and in 2015, they secured 4 million dollars in Series A funding.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with KarpReilly as we enter this next phase of growth,” said Berger in a statement. “The main drivers of our business are product development, marketing and technology. The investment will be focused on supporting smart growth in each of these three areas.”
