American department store company Stage Stores Inc. has announced the departure of Oded Shein, its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective August 10. Shein is leaving the company to pursue another opportunity. In the meantime, Stag Stores has appointed Jason Curtis as Interim Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.
“We appreciate the great contributions Oded has made over the past seven years, as he helped shape Stage for the future”, said Michael Glazer, President and Chief Executive Officer at Stage Stores, in a statement. “I am thrilled that we have the depth of talent at Stage to appoint Jason as our interim CFO. While we expect to assess internal and external candidates for the CFO position, I am very confident in the strength of our existing team”.
Curtis joined Stage Stores in 2011. He currently serves as Senior Vice President, Finance and Credit. Previously, he held the roles of Vice President, Finance and Accounting, and Vice President, Finance and Treasurer. Prior to joining Stage, Curtis worked at another department store chain, Belk Inc.
Founded in the 1920s and headquartered in Texas, Stage Stores operates over 800 stores across the United States, under different brand names: Stage, Bealls, Goody’s, Palais Royal, Peebles and Gordmans. Approximately 14,000 employees work for the company, according to Stage Stores’ website.
