Shoe Zone appoints Malcom Collins as Non-Executive Director

As indicated by the company earlier, Shoe Zone has announced the appointment of Malcolm Collins as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.
Commenting on his appointment, Anthony Smith, Executive Chairman of Shoe Zone, said, "I am pleased that Malcolm has agreed to join the Board of Shoe Zone as a Non-Executive Director. His industry knowledge and buying expertise, having spent 16 years at New Look and 23 years at Clarks Shoes, will be invaluable to the Board as we continue to grow our footwear range through shoezone.com and our Big Box concept."
Collins has extensive experience in retail, most recently as group buying and design director for footwear and accessories at New Look. He oversaw the group's 550 million pounds (over 800 million dollars) footwear division, representing 30 percent of group turnover. In this role, Collins developed a worldwide supply base, sourcing product from China, Cambodia, Vietnam and Europe, and was responsible for range planning.
Prior to his 16 years at New Look, Collins spent 23 years at the international retailer, wholesaler and manufacturer, Clarks Shoes. He worked in a number of roles during his career at Clarks, including 13 years as women’s footwear buyer.
