Macintosh Retail Group has been granted suspension of payments by the court of first instance in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
The announcement comes swiftly after the Retail Group revealed it had filed a request for the suspension of payments as means of court protection from creditors.
John Huppertz from law firm Paulissen and Bart Meijs from Thuis & Partners have been appointed administrators and together with the members of the board will see if a potential sale of Macintosh, as a whole or in parts, is still viable in the interests of the employees, creditors and other stakeholders.
All shops and stores under the Macintosh Retail Group, which include Invito, Manfield and Scapino will remain open in the intermediate time.
