Barneys New York unveiled an updated ninth floor to its Madison Avenue flagship store in New York City. Along with the updated appearance, the department store rebranded the department to Barneys Home and Kids, according to a press release.
The departments had previously been called Chelsea Passage, and encompassed a similar range of product offerings across children’s and home. Barneys Home showcases luxury home brands including Swedish luxury bedding brand Magniberg and Hermes tabletop dinnerware. In the redesigned childrenswear space, Barneys will sell high-end kids’ clothing brands such as ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo, Gucci and GIvenchy.
“We so are excited for our customers to experience the new Barneys Home and Barneys Kids,” said Tom Kalenderian, executive vice president and general merchandise manager of men’s, children’s and home, in a statement. “With new categories and offerings, our redesigned Madison Avenue space, and innovative events and collaborations, Barneys New York will always have something new to satisfy stylish kids.”
To celebrate its new floor launch, Barneys will host an open house for shoppers on October 20 to showcase designer appearances throughout the floor and experience activities across the space. Additionally, Barneys New York is planning a partnership with interior designer Ryan Korban to preview his new furniture line. Korban will also curate a pop-up installation on the ninth floor, as well as his favorite picks of Barneys Home offerings.
